What is miniMRF?
The miniMRF is a specialized combination of currently available equipment designed for indoor or outdoor operation and periodic relocation as required. Its modular design with trailer mounted units allows for its easy mobility.
The miniMRF is designed to generate value by diverting scrap from landfills. It is focused on recapturing aluminum beverage cans, steel cans and other reusable materials from the residential municipal solid waste (MSW) stream. The miniMRF can be located at a MSW transfer station, solid waste incinerator or landfill and can be combined with existing recycling programs.
miniMRF Requirements
- Minimum volumes of residential municipal solid waste (MSW)
- Available space for the equipment—nominal 7000 square foot space
- Host facility participation—loader and operator needed to move waste to and from miniMRF
Additional modules for miniMRF are available to recover additional materials
- Engineered Fuel Module—Recovers the combustible ultra light material including mixed paper and film plastic
- Fiber Module—recovers cardboard (OCC) and newspaper (ONP)
- Plastic Module—recovers single serve plastic beverage containers
